Trump talks with Mitt Romney as he measures Senate offer

WASHINGTON — The White House says President Donald Trump has talked with Mitt Romney, the previous Republican presidential competitor who has communicated enthusiasm for running for Senate in Utah.

The two men talked quickly Thursday night. The White House says they talked in regards to Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch, who is resigning following four decades. Bring forth’s flight opens the entryway for Romney, who has been a successive commentator of Trump previously.

Trump had encouraged Hatch to run once more.

Romney now lives in Utah, where he’s affectionately viewed as the man who helped pivot Salt Lake City’s embarrassment tormented 2002 Winter Olympics. Amid the last presidential battle, Romney called then-hopeful Trump “a cheat” who had “neither the disposition nor the judgment to be president.”
