An Auckland lady was snatched by a more peculiar as she was strolling in Avondale a week ago.

Criminologist Elizabeth Willis said the lady was strolling on Rosebank Rd in Avondale somewhere in the range of 8pm and 9.30pm on September 11 when a man driving a dark vehicle began following her.

The man shouted out to her at that point stopped his vehicle on Riversdale Rd. As the lady strolled past he escaped his auto and got her from behind.

Police said the auto the man was driving was like a Holden.
